Iran digital Autobiography
Personal Project

In a country that forbids youthful fun, dancing music, gender-mixing, and alcohol, Iran’s new generation are making the most of their mobile phones, using selfies as a form of interaction with each other, as do many other people in other nations.
Creating energy and bonding people together with an effective style of social interaction in a country where they have many limitations.
They also use selfies as a conscious approach to reflect a modern vision of themselves and reaffirm their identity, a very common practice all over the world.
This series presents how Iranians find a place and pose for the ultimate selfie.
I was particularly interested in observing how people compose themselves in public while taking selfies. They become oblivious to what is happening around them while gazing at the image of their mobile devices. Getting absorbed in the moment, they often forget what they look like to people around them.
